Is Hairdressing an Art?
Hairdressers create. They create a look . A look that’s been described to them by you.
To be able to visualize something and
create it is art.
You’re putting trust in the ability of another
to create something that you want. If this wasn’t important you would cut your
own hair or get a friend to cut it for you and hope for the best!
Braids, French rolls, plaits, layers,
perms, highlights, colours, blow waves, straightening, bowl cuts and mullets! These are all
creations, even the ones we'd rather forget.
Is it more than just a learned technique
that’s required to be a hairdresser? I always thought it was. It’s something that I’ve been wondering
recently as it seems to be getting harder and harder to get the right style.
Who else but some creative soul could have produced
this beautiful style?

Even this style required an artistic vision!
